Jonathan Franklin joined the Beverly Hills Bar Association back in 1993 to ease transitioning his legal career from sunny Florida to sunny California. It’s fourteen years later. He’s still an active member in the association, but now he has his own firm located in the historic Courtyard Building in the heart of Beverly Hills. It is from this vantage point that he tackles his client’s criminal matters all over the Southern California area.

Mr. Franklin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and then, following his attorney-father’s legal footsteps, attended Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. He then worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Orange County State Attorney’s Office in Orlando, Florida before heading west. After arriving in California, Mr. Franklin worked for Dick Clark Productions, Inc. and Spelling Television, Inc. before hanging his own shingle. Although he still enjoys developing and pitching an occasional television project, his true passion can be found in his criminal defense practice and he is happy to return to the drama of the courtroom. He remains active in the Beverly Hills Bar Association as a member of The Order of Distinguished Attorneys, and enjoys the camaraderie and support shared among its members.

Mr. Franklin is a supporter and participant in the theatrical arts. He is an active member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and is involved with the Actor’s Fund of America. Following an ongoing hobby since college, he has worked on stage, film, and television, and for the Walt Disney Company in Tokyo. At last summer’s Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Vintage Wine Bouquet live auction, Mr. Franklin won a charitable bid for an acting part in an upcoming Henry Jaglom film titled Irene in Time. He bid on the movie role knowing that the money would benefit the Association’s Barristers educational and community outreach programs. Mr. Franklin also sits on the board of the Hollywood Heights Association.
